Jalan MH Thamrin-Sudirman is Now Closed

Jakarta Transportation Department together with city police have closed several roads on Jalan MH Thamrin up to Sudirman. The road closure is run inline with the implementation of Jakarta Muharram Festival (JMF) at Bundaran Hotel Indonesia tonight.

Now road has been closed already

Syafrin Liputo, agency's head, said the road closure starts from Kuda Arjuna Wiwaha statue towards Bundaran HI upnto Dukuh Atas, Menteng, Central Jakarta from 4 PM to 12 AM.

"Now road has been closed already," he said, Saturday (8/31).

3 Stages Enliven Jakarta Muharram Festival

According to him, his side deploys hundreds of personnel to several points to smoothen the traffic.

"We deploy 347 personnel for 23 points," he closed.

Based on Beritajakarta.id observation, the road of Jalan MH Thamrin-Sudirman is now empty. Many people have already attended the venue of JMF.

The traffic closure is closed as follows:

1. Jalan MH Thamrin on the east and west sides (Sarinah Intersection until HI Roundabout)

2. Jalan Jendral Sudirman on the west side (Dukuh Atas until HI Roundabout)

3. Jalan Imam Bonjol (HI Roundabout until Jalan Agus Salim Intersection).

As for the traffic diversions are to happen in the following areas:

1. Vehicles from Jalan Wahid Hasyim on the east side, headed toward Jalan MH Thamrin will be straightened to Jalan Wahid Hasyim sisi barat

2. Vehicles from Jalan Kebon Kacang Raya toward Bundaran Hotel Indonesia will be directed U-turn

3. From Jalan Teluk Betung towards Jalan Sudirman

4. From Jalan Imam Bonjol towards Jalan Pamekasan or turn right to Jalan Agus Salim

5. Vehicles from Semanggi toward HI Roundabout will be diverted to turn left (Dukuh Atas) to Jalan RM Margono Djodjohadikoesoemo
